Our Basic Software Training program provides hands-on instruction for the fundamental use of three leading Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software tools: Siemens STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, and OpenFOAM. This training is designed to give beginners a strong foundation in CFD simulations, enabling them to effectively analyze fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and other multi-physics problems.
Throughout the training, participants will gain practical experience in using each software, learning how to set up and run simulations, interpret results, and apply the tools to real-world engineering challenges.
Each module includes a combination of lectures, tutorials, and hands-on sessions, allowing participants to develop a working knowledge of each platform’s unique strengths. By the end of the training, attendees will be equipped to independently set up basic simulations and analyze results, laying the groundwork for more advanced CFD applications.
A powerful and widely-used CFD tool for simulating fluid flow and heat transfer across various industries, with an emphasis on its user interface, solver settings, and post-processing capabilities.
Prerequisites
A technical education and background in fluid mechanics and heat transfer is recommended but not mandatory. An engineering degree is not required.
A comprehensive solution for multi-physics simulations, focusing on fluid flow, heat transfer, and advanced features such as automation and optimization.
Prerequisites
The basic Simcenter STAR-CCM+ course is intended for engineers or analysts who are new to multi-physics simulation software, but it can also be used as refresher training for occasional users.
This course introduces the open source CFD toolbox, OpenFOAM. It provides a foundation for all aspects of OpenFOAM, from running cases to programming, so is useful to both new users and existing users wishing to broaden their basic knowledge of OpenFOAM.
Prerequisites
No prior knowledge of OpenFOAM, C++ or Linux is required but a basic knowledge of Linux and C++ is beneficial.
